May I Re-Direct Your Attention To...
designallkinds.tumblr.com
This blog was somewhat thesis related,
and now that I’m done thesis I want to leave it as it is.
The internet can have a memory, you know. You just got to know where to start and stop.
With that,
JB.
Guess Who's Back.
With my vacation winding down to a close,
I’m back and re-inspired.
I’ll need to decide which blog to begin again,
I might shift my focus to the other blog I’ve begun.
Regardless, stay tuned..

I Have No Time For You.
Sorry?
To-Do List (v.8695)
WOW - Final To-Do List
The lists begin! Anyone who knows me, knows that I love making lists and crossing things off. I’ve decided to ‘go public’ with my list this time, but only with the intentions that I will keep updating it, and know that anyone who reads this will see it as somewhat cryptic (just because of the way I remind myself of things).
Here’s the official list of things to be done...
The extent to which you have a design style is the extent to which you have not...

I think it would be interesting to have a discussion about this.

An Update on Updates.
I will no longer update this tumblr until I’m finished school.
The only updates will either be complaints, or additions to my to-do list.
I think I’ve seen all corners of design-internet world, and I could use one less distraction.
So, I hope you like to-do lists.
I appreciate my thesis more when reading things... →

This is what happened:
MY PLAN IS 1 DEGREE OFF!!!!
1 degree is very important… because —-
I’ve got three major volumes in my site:
The pizza wedge (main building)
The housing skip stop
The existing queen street brick strip
The edge of…

That screenshot just gave me a serious problem. Why is my plan STILL empty. Again.
FRUSTRATED.
This is where I vent to someone who doesn’t complain about me.
My site is wiped clean. I’ve essentially started again meaning I’m re-working ALMOST everything that I’ve done thus far. I think this is long over-due, but it’s painful to stare at. I’m changing some functional aspects of my building, and it’s crucial that I have it finished by WEDNESDAY. So I...

archiTEXTBlog: Thinking about access... →
Three years ago, I embarked on this endeavor to find a way to create access to the world of architecture for those who found the barriers insurmountable by creating a space and a platform to get it into the vernacular of the masses.
Three years later, we’ve made made a lot of progress, but we’re…

Beautiful Menorah
I guess I’m biased, however this is beautiful.
“The winning design, created by SOM’s Colin Gorsuch, is a cast piece of solid wax that mimics the liquidity of the ancient consecrated oil. As the menorah burns, its 8x8 framework is revealed. The melted wax falls onto the wooden base and paints a pictorial timeline of the Hanukkah celebration.”

I find this use of clear diagrams and a well selected 3D view very effective. This is a good example of how a crafted message reduces the effort to communicate your message. It is something that most students have trouble understanding.
